Our story

Built from loss.
Made for love.

The Afterparty exists because of one man who took the time to write things down — and in doing so, gave his family an extraordinary gift.

A farewell that felt exactly like him

“He had written down the music, the flowers, the dress code — full white. Every detail. It turned the hardest day into something deeply personal.”

— Boris C., Founder

When Boris's father passed away, we discovered he had left very specific instructions for his own farewell. The music he wanted played. The flowers. The full white dress code.

Because of those instructions, the day became something unexpected — not just a day of grief, but a true celebration. A farewell that felt, in every detail, exactly like the man himself.

The unconventional but deeply personal ceremony showed what a farewell can look like, and the beautiful memories that can be created at a time of mourning. But more importantly, how much less painful the planning becomes when there are clear instructions.

The Afterparty was built to make these moments easier — for people to document their wishes, and for families to organise the planning and connect with the right suppliers. So that you can focus on what really matters during the most difficult times.

What we believe

01

Death deserves better design

The systems around death are broken — confusing, expensive, and cold. We think the tools people use to plan a farewell should be as thoughtful as the farewell itself.

02

Privacy is non-negotiable

Your wishes are yours. We will never sell your data, show you advertising, or share your information with anyone you haven't explicitly chosen.

03

Planning is an act of love

Leaving clear wishes behind is one of the most considerate things you can do for the people you love. We exist to make that as easy as possible.

04

Grief needs less admin

When someone dies, the last thing their family should face is a hundred decisions with no guidance. Our tools take away the guess-work so they can focus on what matters.

05

Every farewell should feel personal

A funeral is the last impression you leave. It should feel like you — your music, your people, your wishes — not a template chosen under pressure.

06

This is for everyone

You don't need to be old or unwell to think about this. Anyone who loves someone and wants to spare them unnecessary pain has a reason to use The Afterparty.

Leave them the gift of knowing.

Five minutes to start. The rest of your life to get it right. Private from the very first word.
